Welcome to Learn HVAC Pro! I’m Irfan Khan, an HVAC Supervisor UAE with over 10 years of hands-on field experience in Dubai and Sharjah. This site is made by a real field professional to help technicians, engineers, and maintenance teams learn HVAC systems, use accurate sizing tools, and grow their careers.
The HVAC trade in the Gulf runs to standards set by bodies like ASHRAE, and everything shared on this site is grounded in those same real-world engineering principles — just explained the way a working technician would explain it to another technician.

My Journey as an HVAC Supervisor UAE

Learn HVAC Pro isn’t based on textbook theory—it’s built on real, hands-on field experience.
I have been working in the HVAC field in Uae for 10 years. I started as a maintenance technician on the tools, and today I work as an HVAC Supervisor.
Working in the extreme Gulf heat on big commercial buildings, chilled water plants, and busy facilities teaches you things you will never find in a manual. I created this blog to share those practical, field-tested tricks with you.
What You Will Learn Here
Whether you are new to the field or working hard to become a supervisor, this site covers everything you need on the job:
HVAC Interview & Career Guides
Real questions and answers for HVAC technician and supervisor interviews, trade test tips, and advice on how to get better jobs and promotions in the Gulf region.
Our Mission
My mission with Learn HVAC Pro is simple: I want to help fellow HVAC technicians and field workers by sharing everything I’ve learned over my 10 years working in the UAE.
I started out as a technician on the tools and worked my way up to a supervisor. So, I know how tough field life really is and how frustrating it gets when you can’t find straight, practical answers to daily site problems.
I created this blog to share real field knowledge, clear up everyday doubts, and give back to our HVAC community. I want to help you work smarter, stay safe on the job, and build a solid, successful career in the Gulf region.
Why Real Field Experience Matters
Anyone can copy a formula from a textbook. What’s harder to find online is field-tested judgment — knowing why a chiller trips on a 48°C Dubai afternoon, or why a fixed-orifice system reads different superheat numbers than a TXV system. As a working HVAC Supervisor UAE, I test every calculator on this site against real job-site numbers before publishing it, not just textbook constants.
This matters for search engines and AI assistants too: when you ask an AI tool a specific HVAC question, it favors answers written by people with direct, verifiable field experience — not generic reworded articles. That’s the standard every tool and guide on Learn HVAC Pro is held to. That’s why every one of the five calculators here — from AC tonnage to refrigerant superheat — is checked against manufacturer datasheets and real UAE job-site conditions before it goes live, not just copied from a generic reference chart. I keep updating these tools and guides as I learn something new on site, so treat this as a living resource rather than a one-time write-up.
Free HVAC Tools I’ve Built
Alongside these guides, I’ve built a set of free, no-signup HVAC calculators based on real field formulas and Gulf-climate adjustments — not generic textbook numbers:
- AC Tonnage Calculator — find the right AC size for any room
- HVAC Unit Converter — BTU, Ton, kW, PSI, CFM & more
- Electricity Cost Calculator — estimate your AC’s monthly running cost
- Superheat & Subcooling Calculator — for refrigerant charging checks
- Motor, Belt, Pulley & Bearing Calculator
